Academic Mafia

Since the gains on capital investment in education are highly lucrative and this also provides the investor a social and political status, an academic mafia is gradually spreading its tentacles in the higher educaiton system. There are not only frauds committed but the students are exploited through high fee structures and unrecognised degrees.

We have always believed in imparting education and not selling education.

VC Under Inquiry

So many Vice Chancellors of the Central Universities in India are facing inquiries. Some by the CBI, some by the CVC and some by the Visitor. The State Minister for Higher Education admitted this in a question in the Lok Sabha on 16th of December. For a fair inquiry, it is essential that the concerned Vice Chancellor be asked to proceed on leave till the completion of the inquiry. Why is this not happenning .. is a major question. Afterall every Vice Chancellor is a full-time salaried officer of the University as per the Statutes, hence, why the rules meant for all salaried officers as regards the conduct are not applied on the Vice Chancellor?
